OUR MISSION

The Gospel and Sound Collective creates theologically rich, genre-blending music that reflects the diversity of the global Church. Through collaborative artistry and high-quality musical resources, we equip worship leaders to lead vibrant, biblical, and Spirit-filled worship that glorifies God. 

 We believe that music sung by the church should be a reflection of the diversity of culture and experience of those in the congregation. We worship an incredible, creative and limitless God. Why should the music with which we worship him be any different? 

OUR VISION

Our goal is to help grow, innovate and rejuvenate the worship experience of local churches by offering abundant fresh musical resources to worship leaders, pastors and fellow musicians. This includes a continually expanding catalog of new worship songs, reharmonizations and new arrangements of old hymns.

James Cheesman is a Worship Pastor based out of Farmersville, TX. His most recent album "Songs for a Church Like Ours" is full of congregational songs in a variety of styles, including folk, gospel, and modern hymns. His first studio EP, "Your Glory Alone," was recorded in Nashville with 3-time Dove Award winner Dennis Allen as producer. In addition to leading worship and songwriting, James is an Adjunct Professor of Worship at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and involved in the Southern Baptist Church Music Conference. James is married to Meg and father to two beautiful daughters. 

Travis Ham is the Worship Pastor of Bear Creek Bible Church in Keller, TX where he has served since 2006. Stemming from convictions rooted in Colossians 3:16-17, Travis’s passion for songwriting is that his songs would help shape hearts and minds according to the Gospel, the word of christ, so that the gathered church would be mutually discipled to grow in living for the glory of Jesus by the grace of Jesus. To multiply these efforts, he also serves as a team co-captain within Resound Worship’s 12 Song Challenge. Travis is married to Holland and father to three amazing children.

"With the desire to honor God and benefit Christ's church, I have been working on songs of worship for a few years, but lack the musical expertise to put "meat" on the "bones" of my songs. Then I saw the Gospel and Sound Collective's FB post launching the very help I needed to move the song forward. As a drummer, I had the lyrics and a basic rhythm and Hannah worked with me over a few months to explore and bring to life my vision for the song musically.
